The Early Years (1990-1996): Travel back to the early 90s when gaming was limited, but the thrill was immense. From Tetris handheld games to affordable Game Watches, I reminisce about the simple joys and limited options of my gaming world. While I couldn’t access consoles like the Gameboy or Game Gear, I found solace in watching others play.
Console Adventures (1996-2003): Enter the world of console gaming with a clone of the NES Famicom. From iconic titles like Contra, Mario, and TMNT, I discovered the thrill of console gaming, even without owning an original Nintendo console. Arcade games like Soul Calibur and racing games at “Time Zone” added a new level of excitement to my gaming experiences. Later, my father’s PC became my gateway to games like Striker, CD-MAN, Street Ball, Prehistorik 2, Supaplex, Lemmings, and Lotus III Challenge.
Expanding Horizons (1997-2003): With the arrival of a modern PC in 1997, my gaming world expanded. Racing games like Destruction Derby 2, the Need for Speed series, and other titles such as Midtown Madness, Monster Truck Madness, and Motocross Madness took center stage. I also dabbled in RPG games, particularly the PC version of Final Fantasy VIII, where I discovered tricks and mini-games to enhance my experience.
New Horizons (2004-2009): The PS2 era brought a new level of excitement as I finally got my hands on the console. With games like Tourist Trophy and Gran Turismo 4, I immersed myself in the world of racing, fulfilling a long-time passion. However, as life took me in different directions, I had to take a break from gaming to focus on marriage and work.
